Here’s the truth most chimney sweeps won’t tell you: McLean’s strict HOA rules and historic homes mean your chimney isn’t just a safety issue, it’s a liability if it’s not up to code. We’ve seen fireplaces in this area fail inspections because of hidden rust in the damper or mortar crumbling from years of moisture. Our crew doesn’t just sweep. We check for these red flags during every visit, and if we find them, we’ll tell you flat-out what needs fixing, no vague ‘we’ll take care of it’ nonsense. That’s how you avoid a $5,000 repair bill after a house fire. We’d rather be the reason you don’t end up on the evening news.
We don’t do seasonal sweeps. We do sweeps when your chimney actually needs it, not when the calendar says ‘fall’ or ‘spring.’ That’s why we start every job with a quick, free check for creosote stage (glance test, not a guess) and flue condition. If your last sweep was done by someone who just ‘hooked up a brush,’ you’re probably overdue. McLean’s older neighborhoods like Langston and the areas near the Potomac have chimneys that hide problems behind that pretty brick facade. Our crew knows where to look. Call us when your fireplace acts up, not when it’s too late. We’ll get it right the first time, or we’ll walk away.
